Here at Volt-Tech Electric Company, we know you care about your business, and we want to help you do what’s best for it. If you need any kind of work done on your facility’s electrical systems, you will need the help of a commercial electrician. To help you make sure your business is in good hands, we have put together this list of qualities to look for when choosing a commercial electrician.

What to Look for in a Commercial Electrician

  • Insurance- One of the first things you should look into when vetting a commercial electrician is whether or not they have insurance. A good electrician will acknowledge the possibility that something could go wrong and prepare for that scenario by carrying the right insurance coverage to protect you and your finances in the event of an accident or injury. If you choose an electrician without insurance, you will have to pay for the costs of damages or medical treatments yourself.
  • Experience- Another thing to look for in a commercial electrician is experience. Ideally, a candidate should have extensive experience in the field, and should specifically have experience working on commercial projects. Residential electrical projects are on a much smaller scale, and aren’t really adequate preparation for commercial ones.
  • References- A third thing to look for when choosing a commercial electrician is strong references from past clients. Every electrician should be prepared to provide a list of former clients and their contact information, and we strongly encourage you to call a few of these clients to ask about their experience with the company–if they have mostly good things to say about the electrician, then you can go ahead and make your final decision.
